17th Century, Wrought Iron Strong Box / Armada Chest
A fantastic and striking piece, potentially manufactured in Germany. The Armada Chest consists of a false lock to the front of the chest but would have actually be opened via a secret keyhole underneath a rotating panel.
Unfortunately, this chest has had its entire lock mechanism removed. As there is no lock mechanism, no key is supplied with the chest. As seen in the photos, corrosion has affected the bottom corners of the piece as there is some light gaps, however, it is still incredibly strong and weighs a tonne.
