The chest dates from the early 1900’s and is bound in both leather and steel.
The chest does show signs of historic woodworm but has been treated. The woodworm has caused the rear of the chest to historically weaken and has been repaired. Additionally, there is a split to one of the boards to the top of the chest which has been repaired with a sheet of MDF on the underside.
