Early 19th Century, George IV Rosewood & Brass Campaign Style Apothecary Box

A lovely piece of history made out of Roswood and Brass in the campaign style. The box is stamped with its makers mark of "Thomson London" and will likely date to the early 19th century, around the time of George IV.

The piece has stood the test of time fairly well but has experienced some casulaties along the way. To summarise, there are a couple of dents to the external brass work, two minor splits to the rosewood at opposite ends of the lid, some straining to the velvet lining, 4 missing bottles, as well as 1 missing lid, a broken pestle and a couple of minor chips to some of the bottles.  There is unfortuantely no key with the box as well.

Pardon the losses, the box still contains its drawer locking pin, a glass syringe, 2 small tools, glass mortar, measuring glass, 2 tin pill boxes, 4 lidded glass pots, weighing scales and weights, 18 glass bottles and a glass plate (31+ pieces).

The box measures 26.5cm W x 19cm D x 22cm H.
