English 17th Century, Charles II Silver Bowl/Porringer
It is believed to be English in origin dating from the reign of Charles II and manufactured in England. Similar examples have been seen which leads to this conclusion.
The bowl has a floral design, displaying flowers on 4 separate panels around its body, with an inscription on its base.
The inscription, to the underside of the bowl, reads “A.E. To T.M. 1670”.
The bowl is in great condition for its age and bears the makers marks of what is understood to be “TA”, however, the marks are slightly worn so the first letter cannot be made out clearly. There is no other damage to the bowl.
The bowl measures 19.5cm handle to hand, 10cm wide and 9cm high. The total weight of the bowl is 285 grams.
